We learned that we are capable of making choices; Whether it’s the food we eat, the clothes we wear, the games we play, or how we treat others, Our choices matter. We learned that we can make a big impact through small actions; Whether it’s through reusing our things, refusing to use non-recyclables, reducing our consumption, or recycling our waste, We play a role in saving our planet. We learned that we can nurture life and marvel at its growth; Whether it’s through planting a seed, watering a plant, appreciating the gift of trees, or feeding little worms with our scraps, Our love and care make the world a better place. Storytelling is the oldest form of education. -Terry Tempest Williams Stories are powerful. Apart from taking us on different adventures from the comfort our home, stories also have the capacity to captivate us, change the way we see the world, and teach us to become better human beings. We learn best through our experiences, but sometimes, we can also learn from the experiences of others.  This week in Kinder 2, we looked into the enduring lessons that we learn from stories, such as kindness, gratitude, empathy, forgiveness, and making friends, through the lens of a 5-year old. We explored different stories in class and we reflected on how these narratives relate to some of our best traits. Here are what the children shared: As a whole class, we picked one essential lesson that is close to our heart: BE KIND.
